Don Bosco   People

Dom Bosco is a vocational institute(formerly a catholic serminary) and the recent violence in East Timor has turned it into a refugee camp. Currently, about 7000(or more) Timorese lived in it. Some do not have homes anymore because their houses were burned down in the violence while others are too afraid to return home. As the recent situation has calmed down, some of the refugees returned to their homes in the morning but come back to sleep at night. Although the President and other ministers has appealed for the people to return home, they were still afraid to do so. They asked, "Who can guarantee our safety?"

The youth from World Vision visited them on 18th May 2006 and held a mini concert, skit and games to brighten their day and ease their fears. We leave many smiling but who knows the fear in their hearts? It seems that the refugees will lived there as long as the case of the dismissed soldiers is not resolved. May peace come quickly.
